Built into this workshop is the opportunity to do a personal sand tray every day, serve as a witness and facilitator with a partner’s sand trays, and do sand trays with volunteer "clients." For the "personal tray" portion of the class, you will need to provide your own sand tray-you can use a fancy wooden sand tray if you have one, and if you don't, you can just use a Rubber Made tub that is approximately 20" by 14" and at least 3" deep. You will also learn sand tray strategies for consulting with parents and teachers. You will learn how to use Adlerian concepts to help you develop an understanding of clients and build treatment plans for those clients. We will explore how to use sand trays to (a) build a relationship with clients (b) explore clients’ lifestyle patterns (c) help clients gain insight into their patterns and (d) make changes in their thoughts, feelings, attitudes, behaviors, and relationships. In this online class, you learn the fundamentals of sand tray play therapy, the basics of Adlerian theory, and a variety of methods for combining the two.
